We partnered with Context Optional to build a weekly contest challenging fans to state how they’d spend a $2K Man Grant. Winners are chosen weekly by a team of editors based on their responses to a weekly prompt. The witty and topical prompts included “How would you show your mother she’s special?” heading into Mother’s Day and “If you had $2,000 motivating you, what job would you tackle around the house and why?”
Entries averaged several hundred per week and were all monitored, flagged, awarded, and managed from a custom administrative interface we also built for the project. The admin features made it possible for the advertising team to run the entire contest from within Facebook.
Man Grants was associated with Dockers “Wear the Pants” sister contest, which gave a single $100K prize to one man with a great plan. It was featured in a Super Bowl commercial and a slew of online video promotion on its own. Naturally, our application handled to increased traffic without hitch.
